So, what did I do this weekend?

Went to the Little Rock Farmers' Market yesterday in search of cayenne peppers - for a recipe - a relish actually: onion and hot pepper. Made this a few years ago when I grew cayennes in the garden and ended up with *way* too many. Family raved so I thought I'd try entering it in the state fair down here. Never entered food before - this ought to be interesting. Made 2 half batches this AM. Couldn't get all red cayennes - 1/2 were green and I didn't want my relish looking like christmas or worse gray slop. It's all preserved - only one jar of the green didn't seal properly - considering this was the first time I've canned anything in years... not too bad.

In between the canning, I washed clothes and the kitchen floor and vacuumed and cleaned the bathrooms - damn no wonder I'm tired!

Speaking of the AR state fair, I think I've mentioned that I was entering photography... 9 pics to be exact: lookie here. (not sure if I've posted this link before, sorry if it's a repeat!)

When I get back from vacation this coming week (Vegas here I come!) I will also be preserving some vanilla and peach jam to enter into the fair. ANd that rounds out my attempts...
